Below is a list of potential partners for financing, building,
and maintenance of the greenspace. This list was built after 1. searching
the web, 2. reading the local newspaper, The
Meadville Tribune, and 3. talking with the Western
Crawford County Chamber of Commerce to get a list of community organizations.

Project
Partner |
After laborious asset mapping, phone calls, letters, and meetings, it
was determined that The French
Creek Project will assume responsibility for the final engineering
and implementation of the space. In order for this to happen smoothly,
I will present a package to the French Creek Project's executive director
and contracted engineer that includes:
1. Location of space, property deed, property measurements
2. Final concept plan
3. Design notes
4. Estimated budget
5. Materials
6. Project contacts such as Andy Walker with the Redevelopment Authority
of the City of Meadville, Eric Pallant, Professor of Environmental Science
at Allegheny College and advisor to The Greenspace Project, and the Liberty
House whose residents made the final concept plan possible.
Funds
are available through a grant given to The French Creek Project. These
funds are used to protect the French Creek watershed through stormwater
mitigation projects. The French Creek Project uses these funded sites
as educational tools for students, local and regional organizations, and
planners as examples for good stormwater management.
The
Greenspace Project will participate in this project. With the help of
a contracted engineer and the professional staff of The French Creek Project,
a stormwater management system will be installed which will then be used
as an educational site for stormwater management workshops.
